Lowitja Lap

The Lowitja Lap is the inaugural fundraising event for the Lowitja Institute and an opportunity for participants to support our work for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, especially children.

The event is a non-competitive pavement walk on the lands of the Kulin Nation around the Parkville/Carlton are in Melbourne. It involves:

  • Supporting a great cause
  • Getting a bit of fresh air and exercise
  • Having lots of fun activities for all ages
  • Enjoying a concert by leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists
  • Meeting our fantastic health and wellbeing Ambassadors
  • Engaging with the work of some of the leading health and medical research institutions in Melbourne
  • and yes, a great t-shirt, participant pack, and free goodies in the event bag & event passport.

We anticipate more than 1000 participants, including several corporate teams.

When:  Sunday 28 October 2018, starting at 10am

Where: Royal Exhibition Building forecourt, Carlton Gardens, Carlton (start and finish)

Course length: 6.89 km, with shortcuts available

Run or walk?: This event is a non-competitive pavement walk. The route passes many cafes, so feel free to take a break!
