The Hon Nicola Roxon MP - Speech at the Canberra Parliamentary Showcase [pdf]

Media Articles on the Showcase [External Links]

Date: Thursday, 13 March 2008
Venue: The Main Committee Room, Parliament House, Canberra

In response to PM Kevin Rudd's commitment for evidence-based policy development the CRC for Aboriginal Health recently presented  cutting-edge Aboriginal health research directly to federal politicians, their advisers and senior bureaucrats in Canberra.

The research presented  at the Parliamentary Showcase  included new strategies supporting Aboriginal families and children in the  Northern Territory;  a new study which documented the challenges faced by Aboriginal Medical Service managers and the strategies and strengths they use to address them; a project which has improved prevention and management of chronic diseases across Australia; and a call for implementation of evidence-based tobacco-control strategies in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
The Showcase was opened by Minister for Health & Ageing, the Hon. Nicola Roxon. To view Nicola Roxon's speech click here
