Professor Shane Houston is the inaugural Assistant Secretary for
the Office of Aboriginal Health, Family and Social Policy in the
Northern Territory Government’s Department of Health and
Community Services.
He provides strategic policy and program advice to the
department’s Chief Executive Officer and to the Ministers for
Health and for Family and Community Services. Professor Houston has
been involved in Aboriginal affairs for over 30 years, providing a
significant contribution to the advancement of Aboriginal health
and welfare services within the Northern Territory and
nationally.
