Roger Brailsford is a graduate of the Australian School of
Pacific Administration (Aboriginal Welfare), the Australian
Administrative Staff College (Advanced Management Program) and the
Northern Territory University (Public Administration). He also
holds qualifications in engineering drafting and metal
fabrication.
Roger has held a range of positions in Aboriginal affairs,
Aboriginal education and Aboriginal health in the non-government
sector as well as in the Northern Territory and Commonwealth
governments. Past positions have included roles in executive
management, operational management and policy. Roger started his
career working in remote bush communities in both the Top End and
Central Australia.
Roger’s major areas of interest involve the development of
sustainable Indigenous health systems, including use of
cross-sector partnerships, with particular interest in issues of
health service management in remote and isolated situations.
Roger has been involved in the initial development of projects
in the Comprehensive Primary Health Care, Health Systems and
Workforce program and is currently working on health development
projects with both the Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance of the
Northern Territory and the local Aboriginal health service in
Tennant Creek.
