Dr Ben Bartlett is a public health physician and general
practitioner who has been associated with Aboriginal health system
development for many years. Ben has made major contributions in
these areas as a public health consultant to many Aboriginal
community-controlled health services, including the Central
Australian Aboriginal Congress, Sunrise Health Service and Winnunga
Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Service in the Australian Capital
Territory. Ben’s work has involved planning studies in both
the Top End of the Northern Territory and Central Australia that
have focused on the development of a sustainable primary healthcare
system in Aboriginal communities. Ben has had a longstanding
association with the CRC for Aboriginal Health and, as a program
leader, persistently champions Aboriginal perspectives and has
actively contributed to the development of the CRC for Aboriginal
Health’s approach to research. He is a director of PlanHealth
Pty Ltd.
