Barbara Beacham has a Bachelor of Social Science (Human Services) degree and a Masters of Community Development and Management degree. Prior to joining the CRC for Aboriginal Health as a Program Manager in January 2006, she worked as a Research Officer and more recently as a Research Associate in complex collaborative and multidisciplinary research environments. Her major areas of interest include consumer participation in health, health system and collaborative research, developing effective research partnerships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous stakeholders and the transfer of research findings into practical change that makes a difference to people’s lives and circumstances. Barbara has been heavily involved in the CRC for Aboriginal Health’s facilitated approach to research project development, and particularly with the four major projects within the Comprehensive Primary Health Care, Health Systems and Workforce program.
