Barbara Beacham has a Bachelor of Social Science (Human
Services) degree and a Masters of Community Development and
Management degree. Prior to joining the CRC for Aboriginal Health
as a Program Manager in January 2006, she worked as a Research
Officer and more recently as a Research Associate in complex
collaborative and multidisciplinary research environments. Her
major areas of interest include consumer participation in health,
health system and collaborative research, developing effective
research partnerships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous
stakeholders and the transfer of research findings into practical
change that makes a difference to people’s lives and
circumstances. Barbara has been heavily involved in the CRC for
Aboriginal Health’s facilitated approach to research project
development, and particularly with the four major projects within
the Comprehensive Primary Health Care, Health Systems and Workforce
program.
